For the past two weeks the youth have explored what spoken word represents. a quick definition of spoken word is a catchall term that includes any kind of poetry recited aloud, including poetry readings, poetry slams, jazz poetry, and hip hop music. the goal of introducing this subject to the youth is to guide them to find their voice. last week we finished the project we started the week before, it was a arts and crafts project where we take pictures out of magazines that represent who we are. down below is a picture of the work the youth completed and some pictures of the birthday party we had for all the January birthdays.
